You're probably right about it, I'd say if they are mum on the subject, it's probably alright, then again we are talking about the government . My only real concern would be it winding up looking like crap, and who would we get to do it.

I guess we'll find out when I get ready to do mine and put it in the trust. Might let you pick since you'll probably end up with it eventually.

I don't know where we engraved it, but to your original post, it makes a very fun silencer host. Surprisingly quiet, and ours has been very reliable.

That's the plan for mine, just bought one of the AAC Element suppressors and sending the paperwork in this week.

Mind telling me where you sent it to get the barrel shortened and threaded?

I'm pretty sure we just did it ourselves.

It'll be real quiet with the Element.

That's awesome....just what I was looking for. My son has a 15-22 and I was thinking about getting one for myself and SBRing it. I am just uncertain about engraving a polymer lower, which is why I was asking about it.

So I take it you can fit the pistol upper on the rifle lower. Does S&W sell just the pistol uppers? Or do you have to buy the complete pistol and just have a pointless .22 pistol lower lying around?

No, you have too buy both a rifle and pistol. I use my rifle upper on the pistol to get some sort of use out of it, I'm sure you could also sell them, things do break once in a while. I'm also pretty sure you could mount a buffer tube to the pistol receiver if your handy with tools, but then you can never go back to a pistol format.

Cutting the Bbl and rail should be cheaper.

How/where did you engrave your SBR 15-22?
