    Lower Parts

Is there a big difference between all the different lower part kits available? Are Colt, LMT, CMT or someone else's parts more or less the same?

I just haven't really heard of many problems related to lower part groups.

I would avoid any of the lower end kits. The dollar savings isn't worth the gamble. A CMT kit from Rainier Arms is like 59 dollars, and it is a good kit.

The only reason I'd spring for Colt Parts would be to repair a Colt rifle. I see brownells now lists a wider array of Colt parts, but the prices are about as bad as Ken Elmore's.

Lots of out of spec stuff in the DPMS kits. I know nothing of the RRA kits but for the same money or a few bucks more I would rather have a CMT/Stag kit. BTW LMT dosent sell a LPK, but I wish they did.

They sell the individual parts though.
Having to buy the parts individually, you might as well buy the Colt parts...

I'm more interested in the quality aspects, not where to buy. More of, I'm wondering if there is quality difference between the parts.

I don't think there's much quality diff once you get above the DPMS and Olympic arms level.

Are you saying that CMT makes them for RRA?

The problem is they normally want you to buy 200 of each of the small parts. If your making an order and add a few small parts here and there they will let it slide normally.

    That's what I thought.
