    Anyone update their retro-guns?

I know the vintage/retro guns are a whole animal in themselves. I love the vintage AR's as they are. I currently own an all original Colt SP1.

But..thanks to the tax man last year, the SP1 is the only AR I have left...

I do really enjoy shooting it, but wonder if it would be out and out sacrilege to put some mild updates on it like a Magpul MOE grip, MOE rifle length handguards, and MOE trigger guard. I am thinking more for comfort and ergonomics more than look. But again, I'm not sure...

Any suggestions? Anyone put such updates on any of their own retro guns? Pics would be appreciated.

I'm not in need of a flat top or anything. Irons are fine.

IMHO anything you change which you can change back without having permanently changed the weapon you can do without regret.

Once you've got some cash set aside a new upper is a option, followed by the lower of choice....

Those are very reasonable and affordable upgrades that will give you more options too.
