Ya I agree. Completes are not something Im into. OR...if youre wanting to save money, I talked to a guy not 10 minutes ago that has a Bushmaster with carry handle he chopped of, added a picatinny rail to the top of the reciever and had it machined for a left side charge. wow

What's wrong with Noveske, Daniel or Larue?

I'd go with LMT if your set on a 16in gun. If you have the disposable income an MRP would be sweet. If not, then just go with a complete carbine from either Colt or LMT, you can't lose.

Midlength isn't some do all to end all system.. yea it's nice but people get pretty gay over it to the point where if it's not a middy it's nothing.

My first pick would be a Colt 6933 if it had to be a factory rifle and from those listed brands.

Are you allowed to mount rails (such as Larue, DD etc?)

Thank you for the replies everyone

I work in an urban environment so 16 is my minimum allowed length so extreme accuracy over 100 yards is unnecessary

I chose the LMT as the running carbine choice because with the upper from botach I can have a complete LMT carbine for roughly $830 before shipping/FFL charges. That Leaves me a decent chunk of change for a rail and front BUIS.

I am allowed to equip rails and if I got a carbine I intended to cut down the fsb and Install a vtac / Troy extreme rail. If I got the sabre I was planning on either the magpul Moe or MI Gen 2 rail when released for middys.

What's the average store price on the mrp's.?

i still don't think of DD when i think of complete guns... but they seem to be, by accounts, good to go. i've yet to fire/work on/or even know anybody with one, but the reports are obviously positive.

as to the other two, i'm not going to say there's anything "wrong" with them.. i'm kind of done looking at it like that/arguing differences like that. suffice it to say that they're a lot of money for what you're not getting.

Given all the info you've provided...I think the LMT carbine is the best bet at that price if you are confident the Botach is a legit LMT factory upper.

Use the rest of the money on the rail you want and accessories. I bought my MRP as a piston upper ~$1400 :eek I would imagine street price for DI MRPs are around $1700-$1800, nearly double your LMT carbine option.

BKB, as you know I don't really do arguing on the web... Its just not my thing. That said: Noveske makes an outstanding rifle that is very reliable and extremely accurate. They are worth taking a look at...

Out of my Colts, LMT's, LaRue, LWRCI... I find myself pulling my Noveske with far greater frequency than I thought I ever would.

I have also had extremely good success with my LMT's after tens of thousands of rounds and have found them on par with my Colt's in terms of reliability, fit, finish and accuracy. YMMV

and i'm not saying they aren't good rifles. in fact, i said i wasn't saying that, and won't say that. they're just expensive for what you get. as far as accuracy goes- ever shot a 4140 un-lined bushmaster? there are some very accurate bushmasters out there- sub MOA. but would i ever suggest somebody buy a bushmaster, or even their barrels? generally no.

I'm sure you know this, but don't forget that if you go with the Botach LMT upper, you will either have to get an extended flash hider permanently attached or get the tax stamp for a short barreled rifle.
