Yes, I would send the upper to either ADCO or Rainier Arms to have an extended FH (most likely the Surefire Medieval FH, I cant use comps or Brakes ) perm installed.

I would be doing the same if I went with Sabre, except I believe their 14.5 middys already come with an extended A2 installed

I would (and did) go with the 14.5" LMT, get it pinned or have someone local put a quick bead so you don't have to NFA it.

Throw a DD EZ Car rail for under $140 or an Omega for an extra hundred if you must have free float.

Makes for a tough as nails rig for not a lot of dough.

We must frequent different places bc when thinking of a complete rifle DD comes to mind long before BCM....i personally havent seen many places that sell complete BCM's. YMMV

BTW: who is that in your avatar pic??? I have been wondering about that forever haha

I also think of DD guns as complete guns before BCM. However I still think both are of equal quality.

As for Noveske I used to think the same thing. However I recently purchased one and once I did the math on what I got, I realized I would have spent almost the same exact money on a Colt once I added the IMOD stock, TD grip, Troy, BUIS, etc.

The only thing I don't understand is why they don't use Enhanced Trigger guards.

I completely agree. In fact, i built an all DD gun but still wanted some BCM "genes" so instead of buying a matching DD BCG i went with a BCM.

I dont own Noveske or Colt (shot alot) but i'm sure their great. I don't understand what your saying: Are you saying that your happy u went with Noveske bc a colt w/ all the add ons would have cost the same or are you saying you wish you woulda bought the colt and added on? Sorry for the confusion, i'm an idiot

I went through Streichers for my DI MRP CQB, and it was right around 1500 for the complete rifle if I recall correctly.

I talked to them today, they've got a Defender 16 with the regular 6 position stock for around 1025.00 and they've got the Defender 16 with SOPMOD for 1225.00. Those are both in stock.

    Glad I purchased the Noveske.

Colt is good for sure. But I feel the Noveske is a better gun especially considering the price.

I would also go DD or BCM over Colt in most cases. mainly because they offer more flexible configurations.

Ok, i understand.......Honesty, even though ive never handled a Noveske i would also go with them over a Colt in similar configuration bc i have read so many good things and the Noveske barrels are very accurate and well made AFAIK..

I cant see myself ever buying a colt over a DD/BCM due to price, CS, options, CHF barrels (yes, i know Canadian colts have them) and even "coolness".

OP, sounds like you made a great choice from your list. You made a great choice w/o the list

No reason to turn this into a fanboy thread about rifles the OP cant purchase... He needs a duty weapon that is on the approved list.

I was simply trying to clarify a quality standard with my question to BKB...
