Can you imagine the flood of SBR paper work and run on suppressors that would happen if this were true?

The only nefariuos thing I might see in this is that they will move AW/detachable mag semi-autos in the NFA category then (either thru regulatory fiat or try to get Congress to pass it. My guess is that they might even get it to pass, since the NRA gets flaky at times. They can make the arguement that since they are 'military' weapons they need tighter controls, but that everyone can get one that is legally allowed. And we save Mexico or something.

My worry then is they make you register all the black rifles and that if they can make a change like this, they could then change it back after a Giffords/Columbine type thing so that then semi-autos are a CLEO sign off only.

Sorry for wild speculation on top of unsubstantiated rumors. But like the silencer talk thread said, when has the government done something that makes sense?

This is true. I can't imagine Congress doing anything positive towards the people that collect NFA weapons. More likely they would try to place further restrictions on them. Those of us who collect machine guns, SBR's, silencers, etc. are such a small percent of the gun owner population that I wonder if the NRA would abandon us if politically necessary.
May God have mercy on my enemies, because I won't.

The Form 1, 4, and 5 were deleted from the ATF site.

Even the guys at NFA, and the distribution center, don't know why.

I tried looking for them as well but they're not listed in the usual place. If you do a search, however, a link does pop up with the form.
