Various types of hunting all my life. Just grew up in the outdoors and it was what I knew of life in general as my dad grew up that way. Only difference is for my dad they hunted because they were poor and it was a necessity. I also competed in trap / skeet in my early years. Out of college I joined the circus and got more into this platform. Eventually I went into the tac side of the business and about 10 years ago, once we retired the HK33's and the MP5SD's for an all in one weapon the M4A1, I was a full time convert, but I still keep the MP5SD as I it holds a special spot for me.

I teach anything from rifle, pistol, shotgun, subgun, select fire. From the most basic firearms 101, to combative shooting, to counter sniping. I do extensive work on not only this rifle but several other weapons systems, but this one I would consider my "bread and butter" for using and working on.

Edit - I should add that the M4 is my bread and butter for a battle type rifle. I really am far better with a scoped bolt rifle and tactics / field craft that would go along with it. That is what I would consider my roots. But I am not too shabby with an M4. I can hit a barn on a good day.

My uncle had a Colt (SP1 I suppose?) in his closet, and I remember thinking how awesome it was that a regular guy could own that. Many years later I bought my own. Hopefully another six year old will get that same feeling of freedom when they see mine some day.

I have no military or law enforcement background. Actually, I'm one of the only people in my entire family that owns guns.

I've only been shooting for about 4 years, but I wanted an AR as long as I can remember. I purchased my first AR (Colt LE6920) earlier this year, after reading "The Chart" and various threads. The first time I shot it, I was hooked! I've spent the last 9 months recovering from a serious motorcycle accident, so learning about my gun and shooting it has helped keep me occupied during my recovery.

The more I learn about the AR/M4, the more I like it. And the wealth of knowledge here is worth its weight in gold; this site isn't filled with a bunch of Bushmaster-toting mall ninjas, unlike some other sites...

I grew up hunting. As far as tactical firearms goes it was my friends dads who was a DCM in Germany. His security detail had some pretty cool stuff, or at least I thought so as a 12 yr old. What really got me hooked was when I was in HS a friends dad bought a SP1.

No doubt steadyup, this board is filled with experienced shooters. I consider myself somewhat experienced and have realized that I have a lot to learn based on what I have read so far.

I enjoy things that go boom. Started signing papers to join the Marine Corps, but was denied for medical. Figured college and the police department is the closest thing so that is my current road. Not sure how much my DD will be used on duty, but it is more fun than my .22.

Marine Corps recruit training, on the M16A2.

Just got my first personally-owned AR last year and found this site not long afterward. Now I'm waiting for BCM to get what I want back in stock so I can drain my wallet some more!
