    Whats up with gun shows?

So i have been going to gun shows for a few years now and have noticed something about the AR-15s, uppers/lower, and general parts. Most of it is sh**. I have not once seen any noveske, daniel defense, LMT and so on. Well there is a Colt and a smithe and wesson here and there but, everything else i see is del-ton, RRA, double star ...u get the idea. Even the BCGs, sling swivels, EVERYTHING are cheap excuses in my opinion. I'm not trying to have a debate on why i think these brands aren't any good. I just wanna know why gun shows have everything but the great equipment.

Gun shows vary greatly from location to location and state to state. Also, a lot of bargains are gone now that AK and FAL kits have gone way up in price or dried up altogether. Internet sales also make gun shows a bit pointless at times except for reloading stuff. What would help would be if we could get USGI surplus sales of more current stuff, but apparently that's been blocked by law and/or bureaucracy.

The people who frequent the shows don't know what great equipment is. Why would someone have a booth with DD and Troy rails when there is line streching around the block of people handing over money for a "bang-for-the-buck" UTG rail?

I stay way the hell away from gun shows. I cannot stand the trash that frequent the ones near me or the trash they sell. I can't speak for the show outside of my state...

Well..i guess ignorance is bliss until something with their cheap firearm goes wrong and they look up what happened and realize their bargain del-ton is a piece of shit. I have recently put that on my checklist of things not to do after my last gun show. I feel obligated to purchase at least something that way my outrageous admission was not in vain. For admission i could have had what i just purchased shipped to me at a lower cost. So have gun shows always been this way or have they just recently turned into garbage?

Gun shows in my AO are dismal at best, the ammo is pretty much bought at area Wal-Mart Supercenters then sold at inflated prices. The AR’s are typical low tier manufactures with the occasional DD, Colt, and LMT thrown in every once in a while. LOL, there is a DDM4 that is never finger f*#%ed like the Bushmasters or DPMS rifles cause no one has ever heard of them! It’s there every show, I have wanted to buy it just to give it a good home. Kind of like leaving a puppy at the behind at the pound.

The people that frequent the shows are always entertaining, think People of Wal-Mart.com!

But at least we the people still have the right to have gun shows and what they represent.

Our gun shows aren't bad. Usually I have a problem however finding any AR parts. There will be complete AR guns, but few parts. There's a lot of hunters and handgunners here, so there's a lot more of that.

I actually go BECAUSE of the ignorance. It is true that most people are ignorant. As such, I can usually find some great deals because no one else is buying. For instance, a few weeks ago, there was an individual who had like 10,000 rounds of steel case .223 barnaul ammo. Of course, most of the people when they were looking at .223 ammo, weren't "Comfortable" with the thought of Russian ammo. "Basically their ignorance". This guy sold a lot of ammo; just not much steel case. No matter how much he tried to tell people about it. The 2nd day of the show, I went back and he still had most of it there. He was from out of town and was wanting to leave early from the show because he hadn't made much money. Now I know how much he probably bought this ammo for, considering it's "Real" Barnaul 5.56 and isn't found much. He's probably been sitting on it for at least a year. I offered him $350 for 2000 rounds. (That's $3.50 a box of 20). The look in his eye was priceless. It was a quiet moment. He knew, that I KNEW, EXACTLY what I was looking at. He simply smiled and put out his hand. "We still shake hands out here a lot". I gave him $350 cash, and I was on my way.

The only problem is that I've already shot about 500 rounds of the ammo already. I shoot a lot of .223/5.56. I have to go out of town tomorrow on business. I'll have to check Sportsman's Warehouse while I'm out. See if they have any more MFS on sale. But I usually the like the gun shows around here. Except when there's sellers who you KNOW EXACTLY what they paid for something, and yet want to screw you. E.g. I know individuals who paid $96 for M2 Ball ammo in a sealed can for the M1 Garand. And they are selling it for $200. Then again; not everyone has access to the CMP like me and others.

We have this gun show and every year there are the same people, selling the same guns, for the same price. I think I've seen the same $3k SL8 like 8 years in a row. Last year some guy stole a handgun, which was crraazzzyy because it's always full of City\State Police\Sheriff's Office.

There is usually some cheap surplus ammo, and the weirder calibers available though. I always grab some 7.5x55 Swiss.

I used to find great deals on ammo at the shows but now they get the stuff and hike the prices way too much. Anymore i cant even find 7.62 ammo for a reasonable price

Online ammo vendors are today what gun show ammo vendors use to be. Every now and again you might score a good find but they are few and far between.
