- Description:

This course is an entry-level course for handgun shooters. The course is designed specifically for those who have not had any formal instruction or those individuals that want to learn real world combat principles. Students will be taught the Vickers Shooting Method of using a handgun. Students successfully completing this course qualify to participate in Vickers Tactical Level 1 pistol course. Topics include, firearms safety as it relates to real world situations, sight alignment and sight picture, trigger control, stance, grip, the draw, reloading, malfunction clearances, weapon maintenance.

Weapon & Gear Class Requirements:

- Eye and Ear Protection (electronic hearing protection is preferred)
- Serviceable handgun of at least 9mm Para caliber
- Serviceable holster
- Minimum one double magazine pouch / Ability to carry minimum of two magazines
- Minimum of three serviceable magazines (5 is better)
- 400 rounds of ammunition
- Suitable range wear depending on the season
- Good attitude

- Additional:
Tuition for courses held at the SIG SAUER Academy includes the following: Free loan of any needed equipment (SIG SAUER pistols, holsters, magazine holders, protective equipment). 20% discount at the SIG SAUER Pro Shop. Ammunition may be purchased at the SIG SAUER Academy.
