Small world. 20mins away and try to get over there as much as I can which isn't enough lately.

Interesting thread. Will try to get SWFA SS 1-4X pics up as time permits when I get back in town.

Guys, how are you guys getting these pics to come out? I tried for a while this AM and failed miserably on my NF 3.5-15 MLR...

I have a view screen on my 4.1 megapixel digital camera. I couldn't get decent pics without the viewscreen. I carefully support the rifle and my hands holding the camera then move the camera around slightly until I get a clear shot through the viewfinder with no shadows on the edges. I take several pics than choose the clearest ones. Make sure your flash is turned off. Other than that all my camera setting were on auto.

I just wanted to say this is such a great thread. It's a huge help for those in the market for an optic - like myself.

Something a little different. Vortex Recon R/T 10x spotter. It's got their mil-based ranging reticle with their quick ranging silhouettes as well. Oh, and that's Barbie, the view is from the front-of-house lighting console position at Disney on Ice Toy Story 3. I'll try to get a better picture with a non-iPhone camera at a real distance as soon as I get a chance.

    Vortex PST 1-4; MOA.

Caveats: All were taken with some zoom on my auto camera, otherwise all I get is a pic of the inside of the scope. As a result, both the object and the reticle are larger than they appear to my eyeball. At 4x I had trouble with the focus and getting a full view, so I was unable to get all at both 1x and 4x.

"Auto Fix" was applied to all as well, but I think that actually made things closer to what I actually see from a color & brightness standpoint.

(I'm new to this reticle pic thing so I'm unsure if using the zoom is SOP or not.

Here is a better shot of the SB Short-Dot CQB reticle on 4X. I like this reticle so much because the very center is very fine, and allows precise shots at long range. I have successfully used this optic to 750 yards, and it still allows great shot placement on LaRue's at that range. I also like how the first lines out from the center form a "box" which draws me eye in.
