Reason 1: People spent thousands of dollars so that they can say THEIRS is the best.
Reason 2: People have seen other people who didn't know what they were doing have problems with a gun of a different brand than theirs.
Reason 3: People have put thousands or tens of thousands of rounds through their guns and are satisfied, but since they haven't done so with the brand in question they won't say it passes the test.
Reason 4: Some people would send a doughnut back to the factory because it has a hole in it, or complain to a waiter in a restaurant that their ice cream was served too cold.

It's obvious where this thread is going to go, and it's threads like these that piss off the mods. If you really had been reading here instead of AR15.com, then you would probably know why this is.
Do a search and you'll find more than enough information on Spikes.

What have you done to ensure it functions and performs great enough for you to "shill" here on M4C? What do you use it for, LE/MIL/Comp/Dirt shooter? Before you make a claim of excellence we would like to hear the "hard" use story behind it. Many of us here use certain products produced or sold by certain Manuf's because they have had the torture tests done. Spike's has done...what? Speak up, please a silly spider and a copy/paste job on Arfcom. Please The "BIG FOUR" get my money for the sole reason that the product line and R&D is solid.

Normally I don't often see these types of threads but it's exciting to be in it.

here's a play by play of what's happening.....

Persons A and B don't like brand X because of the large amount of evidence showing brand X to be inferior to the competition.

Person C hears of the bad talk about brand X and tells A and B of his good 1st hand experience with brand X. All the while, person C does not know about the history of brand X the way persons A and B know.

Persons A and B provide unfavorable history of brand X to person C.

    Person C produces straw man.

Persons A and B perform coup de grace on person C. Person C disappears from the internet.

First, I think if you're asking the question, then you haven't searched and read enough. I don't really care one way or the other about ST but I have seen several Threads dealing with ST that I think, with diligence on your part, you could have "triangulated" your own answer.

Second, IIRC, I have read something about Rob_S and an article he authored for SWAT where he felt ST was "adequate" but it was strictly a low budget gun. So, there isn't a universal M4C "hate".

    But maybe it's just me...

I think there should be a distinction between parts and complete guns. Because a great deal of ST parts are other quality brands just with the spider branded on the side. Example - Fail Zero bolt carrier. Which so far I have heard nothing but praise for that item. But I am sure there are others who do not like it. The same distinction should be made about ST lowers. So far I have not read to much about the lowers being out of spec. What I gather is there are really only 5 or so companies in the US who make lowers. So most of the lowers are just from a good distributer with the company logo etched into it. This makes it all confusing thus the blanket statement that certain companies are bad.

Correct me if I am wrong though.

This is not the forum to post threads like this.

All I see is the OP looking for a pat on the back for his purchase.
Or like another poster implied, he is a shill.

Either way, search is your friend.

    Why the Spikes hate?

    Oh... no reason.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

Well the first step in recovery is admission, the next step is to take action.

I suggest you stay over on that "other" site.

(if you really want to know the answer, just search there have been recent threads on spikes c.s.)
