I acquired a factory Beretta 92 .22 conversion unit a while ago, and have noticed that it shoots very high, even at 7 yards. After looking up some information about various sight heights, I figured out that it's because it's fitted with a Novak rear sight (I do not own calipers so I don't know the precise height) intended for the Elite series with Brigadier slides. I'd rather not get the fancy adjustable sights that are standard with the .22 kit either. However, I cannot seem to find anyone selling normal, plain-jane stock Beretta 92 rear sights. As a last resort, I suppose I could file down the Novaks, but I don't have Novaks on any of my 92s, so I'd prefer to use the standard 92 rear for consistency.
Brownell's has several different factory Beretta rear sights in stock, but none of them appear to be 'standard' Beretta 92 rears. There are three heights of 'Billenium' rear sights, which Beretta's website advertises as being compatible with a standard 92 dovetail, but I don't know which height to get. There's an adjustable target rear, which would be correct for my conversion kit, but as I mentioned above, I don't want one of these. There's an INOX rear sight, which I don't want for reasons of consistency. And there's a "92STK, 92BRIG D,F&G" which I assume is intended for a Brigadier and/or a 92 Stock, which will also be the wrong height.
Does anyone know which of the Billenium heights is correct for a standard, plain-jane 92FS? Or, where I can get a basic, normal Beretta 92 rear sight?
