Lightweight duty build (completed w/ pics)

This will be my duty carry once I qualify with it next month after a dept taught carbine course. I however MIGHT switch this over to a Daniel Defense lower just in case I decide to use a Redi-Mod later on. It will not fit the lower I have now.
I function tested it on Sunday morning for the first time and did not encounter any cycling issues with various ammo or magazines. The bolt also held back on empty. It shot like a champ and was very flat. Recoil pushed more to the rear.
I need to shoot it more before then to really see if problems will pop up.

    Upper:
    Vltor MUR-1A
    DD Lite Rail 9.0
DD 14.5" LW barrel (carbine length)
    PWS FSC556
    Vltor gas block
    BCM gas tube
IonBonded JP Full Mass carrier w/ JP Enhanced bolt
    BCM GFH Mod 4
    Troy fixed rear DOA sight
    DD fixed front sight
    Aimpoint T-1 w/ LaRue mount
    Surefire X300

    Lower:
    Tactical Innovations T15BDX lower
RRA LPK (no fitment issues with pins and parts)
    Geissele SSA trigger
    Magpul MOE grip
    Magpul CTR
    Tactical Springs "Blue" buffer spring
    PWS "PWS-T2" buffer (aka Spike's ST-T2)
PWS Enhanced Buffer tube (billet version)

Total weight on my shipping scale was 6 lbs 10 oz (no magazine)

    Very nice.

How do you like the DOA sight?

    Thanks!
I like it so far with my limited use. It's very fast to line up because of the diamond.

Love the setup. I like folding irons, but that's just a personal preference. What sling are you going to be running?

I have a Gear Sector ASP and a Magpul MS2.. Probably will go with the MS2 due to the convertibility.

That is a very nice rifle.

    Excellent Job!

    SkiDevil

P.S. What did that build cost to put together, minus the optic?

Rough estimate but probably around the $2K mark.

LW build #2 is coming right up. It's going to be similar but this time using at least a 13" rail and a midlength gas system. Gotta have a back up right?

    Pictured:
Vltor MUR-1A (Absolutely LOVE this upper)
DD lower w/ GR Tactical LPK (partially installed)
    DD 14.5" LW midlength barrel
    ST NiB BCG

I would highly recommend going with the BattleComp 1.5 for your next 14.5" build. If you plan to shoot inside of vehicles, indoors while near friendlies, they will not appreciated the amount of blast/concussion coming out of the sides of the PWS brake.

I have a BattleComp 1.5 on my 14.5" middy build and it works great at keeping my dot/sights on target without the expected muzzle flash/blast/concussion that is associated with brakes like the Surefire or PWS.
