FoolCrzy, I like that! And wouldn't be surprised to see it in a signature down the road.

Anyway, I was in the same boat a couple years ago building a S&W stripped lower with a Del-Ton commercial RE/standard buffer/M4 stock/LPK and ArmaLite 16" midlength upper.

As I discovered my mistakes here I went into upgrade mode - buying the BCM RE/H buffer and milspec diameter CTR stock and a Daniel Defense BCG. I sold the commercial RE/buffer/M4 stock and kept the ArmaLite BCG as a spare.

Then I began realizing it was time for a second build but done right. I came across a good deal on an ArmaLite stripped lower and built it with an ArmaLite LPK and another BCM RE/H2 buffer/M4 stock. I married this lower to my upper with its original BCG and now had an upgraded ArmaLite M15A4C. (The H2 buffer works great with the lighter AR-15 style bolt carrier, even in a midlength.)

Soon after a Daniel Defense 16" LW midlength upper was married to the S&W lower and DD BCG. I replaced much of the Del-Ton LPK with a Stag that I bought from BCM along with their RE kit.

Anyway, I kinda think this is the way you'll end up too - with two ARs so be smart about parts you buy and you can swap them around. (Buying a commercial diameter CTR would be a mistake I'm sure.) In fact you can be smarter than I was and just put a few strips of electrical tape inside your Del-Ton M4 stock to snug it up and live with it - while buying a BCM blemished lower/milspec diameter CTR or MOE and starting on a new build done right. You can end up with two ARs, one that you're proud of and the other a decent range gun. (And a lot less work than what I had to do!)

Wouldn't you be better off selling the whole stick and starting over?

    Wanna buy it?

Possibly, but I think I'm just going to take my time and replace/upgrade as time/money/need permit.

Probably won't have quite the end product. Probably not as cost effective, but I don't have much tied up in it and I can spend extra $$$ on ammo.

I have a CTR and I've found the locking lever to not add anything to the stock, I'd go with an MOE if I was doing it again.
