So-Cal CWP for active duty military

So I've found quite a bit of info on concealed weapons permits in California in my searches, and how you obtain one, but I've found a lot of "thoughts" without any real facts or data on the procedure for active duty military, or if it is even viable to do so .
I'm on leave right now, but Camp Pendleton is where I'll be in another week for the next two years as active duty Navy. Anybody have an online source for solid info, or has anyone gone through the process of getting a Cali CWP whilst stationed there?
