Interesting you mention this, as I think I know what you mean. I have an SD-C (which I am finding to be awesome!)......and I put it in two different lowers. On one lower (a near new one), the first stage felt a little bit more more "rough" than in the other one, which is very well used. And when I say a little bit....that is really what I mean....I'm not sure I'd have actually noticed without having tried it in both of them. In fact "rough" is really far too stronger a word....should really be "just not quite as smooth as in the other one".

Now....I have kept the trigger in that newer lower, and have just been routinely greasing and lubing....and have probably gotten 800 rounds on it in there now. And....I am pretty sure that tiny little bit of roughness, or drag, or whatever you want to call it has now gone away completely.

I just wonder if it could have been the precision fitting Geissele pins just somehow settling in to the holes or something (and as stated, I'm really splitting hairs here)....but in any event, if the trigger is functioning good, I would suggest just really lubing as per the instructions and then shooting it some....and see how it goes. As a secondary possibility, I also wonder if perhaps little tiny manufacturing variations in the lowers could be contributing.

    Update:
Well I went out Saturday and bought the KNS Gen 2 Mod 2 Non-Rotating Trig/Ham Pins and lubed all the places the Geissele instructions said to lube with the grease it came with. My SSA trigger is now as smooth as a babies butt as CC4me likes to put it lol. Went shooting Sunday and was very happy with the SSA. 3 inch groups at 100 yards with steel case 55 grain brown bear. Im Happy .

Thanks again for all the comments guys!

Take those KNS pins out, throw them in the trash (or try to peddle them to another sucker), and put your supplied pins back in.

KNS pins are not recommended for use with Geissele triggers.

Where did you get the idea that adding those ridiculous pins would help your GA trigger...

FYI...the ones that come with a GA trigger are precision ground specifically designed for that particular trigger that also incorporates a J hook making those ridiculous pins even more irrelevant.

    "Pre-travel"??

KNS pins are the wrong diameter for Geisselle triggers and are too soft. Put the pins the trigger came with back in. Lube the trigger pins & sears liberally with grease.

Pleased it is working for you, but as the others are saying, I'd also recommend putting the Geissele pins back in, lubed as per instructions, then shooting it quite a bit as per my earlier post. You shouldn't need those kns pins....and the link already provided by mistwolf above explains why they can cause problems.

I'm embarrassed to admit I bought a set of KNS pins, mostly because I thought they'd look cool. What could they hurt?, I thought.

Then I found that article on the Adco site. Fortunately, that happened before I bought my Geisselle trigger

WOW I had no idea! I thank all of you for telling me this. The reason I switched them out was one of the pins was kinda walking out on me so I was like heck I'll fix this easy with the KNS pins. So that's why I put the KNS pins on, I didn't do it for the looks, but they do look kinda cool.

Ok so is my new SSA trigger screwed now??? I shot 160 rounds yesterday . How much damage really could have been done? I'll switch them out ASAP but I hope I didn't damage it too much, I just spent $170 on it!

When I shot it yesterday with the KNS pins in it, it felt smoother than it did with the Geissele pins in it so at the time I was like this is great!

MistWolf thanks for the link! and again thanks to you all for telling me. I really appreciate it. I had no idea about this.

Nope, trigger ain't screwed. Just be glad the lesson learned was only for the cost of the pins. Just think how you'd feel if this epiphany came after buying an Oly River Rock Master

Pre-Travel is synonymous with Take-up...whether officially accepted as definition or not.

Your SSA is fine and I bet your SSA felt better the last time you took it out because you lubed the contact points per the GA instructions with the GA lube, rather than the addition of the pins.

On a side note, what could possibly look cool about these pins. At least nobody sees you wearing a accuwedge when you sport one, cannot say the same thing about these pins
