I'm beginning to think I need an AK-74 *Pics Pg 5*

More specifically an Arsenal Inc SLR-105.

Templar has tried to get me to buy one for years but I always resisted. My local shop has one for $450 and lately it's been calling my name.

I haven't been keeping up with 5.45 because I haven't had a need to so what's the scoop on ammo? How hard is it to get nowadays and how expensive? Is it better or worse than
    7.62x39?

Oh and pictures are more than welcome

If they're only asking $450 then it's got to be a post ban model without the AK-74 front sight and muzzle brake assembly, or a used rifle that they are under pricing.

Real Russian 7N6 military ammo with the steel core and air pocket in the nose is available finally. It is corrosive but THAT'S NO BIG DEAL, just clean your rifle when you get home and no issues.

K-Var has the ammo and front sight block and muzzle brake.......

If it is a post ban, honestly I'd recommend getting a no-ban variant to save yourself some head aches in changing it out.

It's a no ban model with bayo lug and brake but it doesn't have a rail.

Stop typing on the keyboard, get on your bike, and peddle your ass down there right ****ing now and buy it for $450.00.

That's $150.00 below market and way below wholesale.

I'm working at our plant tomorrow so I'll run over to the shop at lunch time and give it a once over. I do know for a fact it's no-ban but if it's that cheap something must be up. How much to the rail models usually go for versus the non-rail models?

Last time I was selling them, $610 for a no rail and $650 or so for a railed no ban rifle.

Scratch that, I called DeGoff's and they don't have any in stock either. They did put me 'want list' in case a used one shows up.

Damn...I should have bought one when you told me to get one. <make a mental note to listen to Templar when it comes to AKs>

ETA: Tim, if I can't find an A1R who could install one of THESE on an A1 for me?

    Well.........I tried.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you. The A1 does not have the scope rail, but the A1R DOES have the rail already installed.
