For the rifle pictured it's going to need the following (assuming an SLR-105 base gun):

gas block w/ bayonet (also referred to as 'accessory" lug)
2 pc. Russian laminate front HG's
    Russian laminate PG
Russian sidefolding steel stock w/ 19 pc. hardware (including new rear trunion)

    additional nice touches:
    Russian selector and trunion markings
"moving" original arsenal/importer markings to under receiver
    Russian Izhmash bakelite mags
    Russian sling, bayo, mag pouch

all marked items circa 1979 or thereabouts

You can see this stuff can add up real quick if you desire an authentic replica. It also requires a whole pile of patience and time.

The 1.6mm receivers aren't "correct", but they're all that's probably available.

Nothing "wrong" with them, they'll be a very sturdy receiver.
I called Atlantic today and your 100% correct.

The 1.6mm receiver AK-74 is a completely new model they are getting built by global, using a global receiver.

The AKS-74 they have for sale now are built on OOW receivers. I cannot remember the exact name of the builder, but it started with "Red". I asked about getting one built with a Armory USA receiver like you suggested and they said it wasn’t possible because they cannot get the receivers.

    Woohoo!

My SLR-105A1 will be here on Friday. My Warsaw length buttstock will be here on Tuesday. My ammo and mags are here and ready to roll.

Dinger and I will probably hit the range Friday afternoon. Range Report will follow.

Marc, will you PLEASE get Dinger to buy the SLR-105A1 while he can!!??

He can then add a side folder a little later.....

I'm guessing the builder of the rifles they have now is Red Jacket down in Louisianna. They do a decent build by and large.

The Ohio Ordnance receivers aren't in spec, although there have been a lot of rifles built on them......there are much better options available now.

The Armory/Global Trades 1mm receiver is a decent receiver, Marc and I have rifles built on them. They're in very short supply though. The older design that Global Trades put out was a 1.6mm receiver, which is the same thickness as a Chinese stamped receiver. They're decent, just not "correct" for a European AKM or AK-74 build. They certainly work though.

I'm pretty certain that the reason that the new rifles will be built on the 1.6mm receivers is that that's all that Global has left....no one was buying them once the 1mm receivers came out.

    Mauser 88, great Romies!!
