    Glock rattle?

I recently installed the following in my G19 Gen4:

    - Ghost Ultimate 3.5 trigger
    - firing pin saftey spring 6lb
    - firing pin spring 6 lb
    - 6 lb trigger spring

This came in the ghost ultimate trigger kit, geared for CCW. Everything worked great with function checks and the trigger feels awesome.

My question is this. When the gun is cocked, I shake the gun and everything seems tight with no rattles. When I fire the gun, then shake it, I hear a rattle. Almost like the firing pin is moving around. Is this normal? I never noticed it before the install, but I never shaked it either.

Perfectly normal; it is the striker.

What he said. I've especially noticed it in my 26 when I keep the trigger depressed. It's just the firing pin safety being held open enough to give the striker plenty of space to rattle around in there.

If it doesn't rattle something is wrong. Perfectly normal.

That's a function test. If you don't hear the rattle...something is wrong

My fairly new (less than 1K of rounds through it) G17 doesn't rattle...but it runs like a champ.

Unload your pistol. Pull the trigger. Shake pistol back and forth, not sideways, and you will hear the rattle.

Thanks guys. Good to know i didn't screw the install up and its normal. The install was easy. The glock is very easy and i'm wondering how easy it is to get the glock armorer certificate.

Getting certified as a Glock Armorer is a load of fun. If you are special person (law enforcement etc) or a regular Joe/Jane that is a member of GSSF (Glock sport shooting foundation) then you are eligible to take the course. It's a day long course and worth every penny. Apart from learning all types of neat info on your Glock, you also are eligible to receive two pistols at the LE price.

Let me rephrase - my G19 rattles. My G17 does not. I'm going to try this with me holding the trigger back and see if I can create the firing pin rattle when I get home today. Interesting.

And that did the trick - rattle induced.
