If you are truly that worried about heat just wrap the drop in a little copper or tin foil so that it has better heat transfer to the host.

Sounds like the heat isn't really something to worry about? I can see how heat displacement would be a consideration in a G2 chasis due to the polymer. A 6P doesn't seem like it would be much of an issue.
Would this statement be safe to say?? Thanks again for all the input gentlemen!

I have three (3) of the Malkoff Devices that I use in my SF.6Z, SF.6P, and SF.M2. Two are the M61W with one being the M60F.
Very satisfied with these drop-in LED LEs!
The thing about that is, even if it isn't potted from the factory...you can do it yourself easily....and cheap. (I just potted a Solarforce R5 XPG) I paid like $17 for the Drop in at Lighthound...and $9 for the Arctic Alumini thermal epoxy at Newegg. I desolderd the driver, and used a syringe to inject the epoxy into the pill, and pack all the electronic, then I re-soldered the driver. It seriously took me like 45min, and at least I seem to get some satisfaction out of taking a cheap piece of junk and making it a gem.

will any of these drop-ins work in the new X-series Surefire lights like the G2X or 6PX?
never push a wrench...
I run the same 6P on this Colt's 6940, it's lamp was replaced long ago with the "Thrunite" XML, performance has been superb, especially as I now run it with RCR123's which is verboten in the original Surefire lamp assembly...for the money you really can't go wrong, bought mine#three of them#from Lighthound...
