Report of 12.5 Noveske and A5

This is just some info i would like to share for anyone considering a similar combo
    12.5" SS Noveske crusader
    Vltor MUR
    Fail Zero BCG
    LaRue !11" rail
    AAC Brake suppressor mount
HDI Mil-Spec Lower with RRA Lpk
Vltor A5 with kit supplied spring/buffer
    Magpul furniture

I ran this carbine in an LMS course (which was awesome) in 90 degree temps in LasVegas dusty conditions for 2 days and about 1000 rounds without a single hiccup. i used a few drops of CLP around the BCG once on each morning. only pmags used. It shoots very soft for a 12.5 with the brake and A5 system just very Loud to others around!

I'll be shooting the complete Noveske 12.5" Crusader upper I picked up recently on Thursday. I have the brakeout on it, not the full brake. It'll be running on a lower with a standard buffer. I'm expecting it to run like a champ, but we will see. It's my first switchblock upper, so I'm eager to see what the 'S' setting will be like. On my other shorty upper (10.5" LMT MRP) with the can on I think I get carrier bounce from being overgassed. Will be taking both uppers to compare.

What buffer do you use in your MRP? The port isn't overlylarge in them.

It's the same lower as described above, a standard buffer as far as I can tell (no markings).

We use an H2 with our SBR length uppers, or the A5 system.

The A5 is the best answer for SBR bufferdom.

Would you mind giving a little more detail on this. I have read most of the A5 thread and I am considering going to it. I have a 12.5 BCM that I primarly run an H2 with, would there be a big gain going to the A5?

You get all the smoothness and reliability of the Rifle buffer system and only give up the shortest position on your sliding stock.

Ironically it was the USMC rifle that the A5 was designed for... but it's the carbines and SBRs that have the most to gain from it.

My home defense 11.5 SBR sports an A1 rifle stock for reliability. I have an A5 on my other 11.5 SBR. At some point the A5 will probably be my home D gun.

i had a carbine extension with an H2 before the A5 and it is now noticeably softer shooting. My ejection pattern is at the same position but the shells do not eject as far, i believe the system is moving a little slower. Although i had no issues with the H2 i feel it was worth the switch and now i am in the process of switching all my AR s.

What do you mean by the system is moving slower? Right now with my H2 buffer I feel I am faster on the trigger than the gun ie I ready to fire another before the weapon bolt is back in battery, it's like the gun can be sluggish.
