    Vltor VIS

    Hello all.

I have been looking at the Vltor VIS upper receiver assembly.

Does anyone have any experience with it?

    Is it heavy?

Does it have extended feed ramps cut into it?

Any feedback will be helpful and pros or cons going with this setup verses a seperate receiver and rail setup.

    Thanks

They are outstandading. They do have M4 cuts in them. Weight is in line with a regular receiver and a rail system.

I like the mono style systems because of the strength and the fact that you don't have a gap between the receiver and the (which is where I like to mount optics).

yes, about 5k through mine. Great piece of gear..

    Is it heavy?

i dont think it weighs in much more than a standard upper with a railed handguard....

you can get M4 ramps, yes

Cons, maybe the price, but when you add up an upper and a 300 dollar handguard, and consider other MRP platforms that require special barrel extensions, I think its worth it

And to support a great company like VLTOR, is always a bonus

Well made, and reinforced for additional strength over a standard upper receiver. These do very well in flex testing.

    Stick

Here is a VIS, but rightside-up so you won't get a crick in your neck trying to make out the details:

The barrel is a Sabre Defence 18" midlength midweight fluted.
