My eyes suck and I have astigmatism, and I don't like relying on my prescription glasses to get a perfect view from my Aimpoints. The adjustable eyepiece of the prismatic fixes this. Plus they are fairly lightweight and seem rugged.
    Will do.

My eyes are in the same boat as yours and I agree, an adjustable eyepiece is a blessing. Even on my Canon DSLRs, I have to crank the eyepiece diopter to the extreme to get a clear view.

It's easy to understand how/why Aimpoints have gained such widespread acceptance. No doubt, they do indeed "just work" and are damned near bullet-proof. They certainly rule the roost for close range combat, to the point that many won't consider using something else.

Fortunately for me, I've never had any target fire back so I have the luxury of deviating from the norm and trying other sighting solutions. More than anything, I truly enjoy the clear, bright, sharp and wider view through the Prismatic. For me and the way I use my rifle, having to take a consistent shoulder mount/cheek hold (just like you have to do with a 1-4X scope) is less of an issue than fuzzy optics and ill-defined/multiple aiming points.

    FWIW
If return to zero capability is required, you can get a LT mount for the Prismatic.

I wonder how many stock Aimpoint H1/T1 mounts offer return to zero capability.

Back from the range - need to admit that this optic was not a good choice for me.

Though the scope is bright, clear and sharp, the center dot is quite large. I would estimate it is between 3 and 4 MOA, which greatly reduces it's utility for precision shooting (something I had hoped this scope would be better at than the Aimpoint).

So, it looks like I'll be looking for a low power variable scope, which I think will better suite my needs with this upper.

It's the Illuminated Circle Plex as shown here.

BTW, the new BCM upper shot well and shows great promise for accuracy. It would be a shame not to set it up with a proper optic to get the most out of it. I think I may end up with a lightweight variable scope and a H1 in a LaRue side mount.

How easy was the reticle to use unilluminated?

I have not had a chance to use the illumination yet. It is certainly very bright when set to the highest setting, and plenty bright at its lowest setting for dawn/dusk low light condtions.

Not sure what the battery life will be, but overall its seems to be very usable.

back from the dead again. I have this optic mounted on my sbr, love the reticle and the clairity of the glass. Very impressed with the circle plex reticle. No need for the illumination yet, havnt really needed it. As for daylight, why would you need it illuminated. overall, great optic and got mine for fairly cheap at $400 new.
