Hello gentleman, was wondering if the standard SureFire 6p incandescent model is capable of withstanding the recoil from an AR15. Or do I need a special lamp or bezel? A bit new to the flashlight aspects.

Short answer: 6P will most probably hold up even without a Shock Isolated Bezel under light use, but there's no reason to get one these days if you're in the market for a weaponlight. I've broken a 6P bulb assembly by just dropping it off a building. Get a 6PLED and you wont have to worry about it. If you already have the light and you're just wondering if its suitable for weapon-mounted applications, that's another issue...
Well I fired 80 rounds today, and the 6P is still functional. Thank You for the link.
Did you fire all 80 rounds with the light on?
Surefires incandescents will run just fine on an AR. Never had any problems with a variety of their lights on my rifle. On or off they run just fine.

A stock 6P typically has no issues on a 5.56 platform. However, just a few rounds of 12 gauge can kill one if not mounted in a shock absorbing head.
This does not apply to LED heads.
Dennis.
Do NOT replace it with another. Even bottom of the barrel LED drop ins will be brighter, more durable and longer lasting than the incan P60. The best out there is the Malkoff, but a cheaper Solarforce or Surefire LED drop in will do the job better than the original incan.
I like the beam from the incandescents better, but yeah I was planning on buying the SureFire LED lamp, but on the website it states they're being discontinued. I'm looking at the malkoff next. These incandescents are inefficient as hell battery wise, but love the beam.
