STMTC - South Texas Defensive Pistol Training 23 July 11

South Texas Marksmanship Training Center [501(c)(3)] will be conducting a tactical/defensive pistol course 23 July 2011 at our Blackhawk facility southwest of San Antonio.

The training will be tactical shooting drills, appropriate for beginner (proficient with firearm but new to engagement strategies) to intermediate-skilled. Speed and difficulty of the class will be based on median skill level of participants. As these will be fundamentals drills, they're great exercise for all experience levels.

Cost to participate is $30 per participant and 350 rounds will be required. These courses will cost several times this rate in the future. We are currently beta-testing six course lesson plans before we go full-on with the fees. Certificates of completion will be provided through our corporation.

Our first of the lesson plan run-throughs went exceptionally well, and we utilized our organization's members as participants. Below is a link to some video of that course on 23 April 2011. Among participants, the course included two senior citizens and two juniors. The seniors are retired military and the juniors are highly-proficient competitive shooters--one holding five national records out to 1000 yards. Don't be fooled by the looks of our participants. We'll teach anyone who is competent, serious and law-abiding.

Approximately 18 months ago we hosted a class by Tom A. and Chad M., for Xe.

Also included at this linked page is an explanation of the course and required gear.
