That looks awesome. I love my semi 1919a6, but an RPD would rock. The idea of shoulder firing the 1919 like the picture above is not appealing...
Enjoy. Yours is beautiful.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” ― George Orwell, 1984
Neat to see the end result of Degtyarev's design process. I've always wanted a DP-28, just because I like the overall weirdness of the design, but the RPD would be more practical given the cost of ammo.
I read a few places that the RPD lacked reserve power to lift the belt in adverse conditions. I wonder if you could open up the gas port and get a little more oomph. I also wonder if you could SBR one of these...
video, sorry I don't know how to embed the video. Shot really well, I had 3 failure to fire out of 120 rounds but the primer hits were strong so it looks ammo related.

I decided to add a little color. The failure to fire was caused by new and tight belts. Now that they are breaking in a bit the problem is gone.

Very nice - "Ogien" translated from polish = "Fire"
thanks
Yes.
Here are two me and my buddy made.
Mines the longer one.
If you are wondering, here is how he got his to work with the moved back gas block.
I had to cut the spring a bunch for mine to cycle, and it would only feed from drum, it didnt have enough power to feed if the belt was dangling.
