    Question I Know, I know---DPMS ?????

Probably gonna get some shit for this but here it is. My brother and I picked up a couple of DPMS lowers at the onset of the last AWB and he's been sitting on his until now. I on the other hand have built up mine and one of mine has an unused DPMS barrel on it (1-9 16in). I built one of mine up a while ago with the understanding there was nothing wrong with DPMS, that is until I found this site. TOS lead me to believe this, that or I was just to blind to see myself. at any rate, I'm about to kill two birds hopefully with one stone.

My plan is to remove my 16in DPMS barrel and reinstall another undetermined barrel. I also plan to build my brother a upper for the lower he's been sitting on. I must say first that my brother does not shoot often if at all anymore, he just wants to build an AR15 to have around just n'case or for the occational blast off the back deck.

Question is do I put one together for him using my 16in DPMS barrel for his intended purpose or do I have him get a new barrel all together?

A chamber reaming with a Ned Christiansen 5.56mm NATO reamer usually makes DPMS barrels run 100% percent.

What about the quality of the barrel itself?

Really not bad. Once reamed they work well.

Have you had occasion to use the chamber reamer on other barrels than the DPMS?

I've reamed several. It worked well in all of them.

Echo gotM4... Once reamed to correct dims, the DPMS barrels are serviceable.

I've put over 3,000 rounds through mine.

    Never reamed it.

Works fine...just as acurate as the first round.

Everyone in my family says Dodge trucks are crap too....but I"VE never had a problem with mine!

Did you put those 3,000 rounds through it in a 3-5 day period or a year or more?

FWIW I've heard the same thing about Ford Rangers that you heard about Dodge trucks.
