    I finally took some recent photos of my MWS. I recently bought a Nightforce 2.5-10x32 with Zero Stops and NP-R2 reticle as well as the 18"ss 5r barrel. I also installed a Geisselle SD-E trigger and I drank the Koolaide and bought a Atlas bipod . The Jury is still out on this purchase. My Harris and LaRue are on the bench.

    I was extremely happy with the 16" CL barrel but wanted to try the 18"5r and I have to say it's amazing. So far I zero'd the gun at 100 yards last weekend after installing the 18"barrel and was pleased that it was only 8"high and 2" left of where the 16" was zero'd. . In a 5 round group I had 3 rounds touching and 2 right around 1" with Federal Gold Medal Match 168gn Sierra Match King. I had almost as good results with Privi Partizan 168gn Match. My range only goes out to 200yards so I will give that a whirl this weekend.

    Nice, I am on the fence about getting an 18" barrel myself. I went to 200 yards last week and it was fun. Best groups were with FGMM 175gr then Hornady 178gr AMAX. I also got some decent groups (2-3") with Fed 150gr ball (X762D). Have fun. Oh, and I was using an NF 2.5-10x32 with the Mildot recticle and the 16" CL barrel. Good fun.

    I'll throw this into the cogitations regarding the NF 2.5x10x24 vs. 2.5x10x32.

    1) Larger exit pupil = faster target acqusition
    2) 32 mm vs. 24 mm = translates to more lumens for low light situations.

    At the end of the day the bottom line is:
    2.5x10x24 exit pupil specs:
    2.5x=10.1 mm
    10x=2.5 mm

    2.5x10x32 exit pupil specs:
    2.5x=13.3 mm
    10x=3.3 mm

    I owned the 24mm obj. & currently run the 32mm obj. While they both are outstanding the times I seem to notice the differences are dawn/dusk/cloudy/foggy/rainy/smokey/heavy folliage AO's.

    HTH YMMV...
    exit pupil specs is the key to low light use and more forgiving sighting of the weapon less than 5mm ...it hurts you in low light and aiming ...more to think about !

    I finally have my 20 inch Noveske 6.5 Creedmoor barrel set to go. I hope to get out soon to see how this compares to the 16 inch 308 SS. Anyone else tried this setup and have any advice on factory ammo? I plan to try the Hornady 120 and 140 AMAX.

    Damn that's sweet Ekbearly!!! That muzzle break really makes it look mean.

    Where are you guys finding your Noveske barrels? I can only find a 13" on their site.

    im pretty sure that noveske barrel was a special run a long time ago

    is it me or is that a large gap between your brake and barrel shoulder?

    You should be able to call Noveske directly to get the barrel. I don't think they advertise it. I bought it from a dealer that had it drop shipped. DBMG did the conversion. It took a long time to get it back.

    That is a gap. The barrel is not threaded all the way to the shoulder. I suppose I could put a washer there, but I don't think the gap will hurt anything. This brake doesn't use crush washers. It uses a timing nut instead.

    I ordered a shim kit and hope that solves my "gap" issue. DBMG was trying to deal with but they are the only option I know of. They are nice guys. I just think they need a business manager to handle their new success. I wish them well. If the barrel shoots as well as I am hoping, it will be well worth it.
