I don't think he's saying the POI shifts as the rifle is heating from firing. I believe he's talking about the ambient temperature. You sight in on a 30*F day in the winter and then when you shoot in 90*F in the summer, the POI is way off.

I'm curious about the F revision too.

Actually it would do it either way.

Thanks GotM4. I am not an expert. But, here is a summary of what I found concerning the Eotech prior to the "F" version

Up until the Rev F, they had issues with W&E adjustment and tracking, battery life (not run time, but battey power drain), the base / mount loosening, not holding zero (both from the base / mount and electronically) and electronic circuitry failures to name a few. There have been failures with Rev F's though not nearly as many as previous models. In fact, the failure rate of the Rev F may now simply be isolated examples that is typical of any make / model of optic.

I have seen this basic information in several forms.

It is true for all the Aimpoints (the comp Ms anyway). Using the iron sights is far better without the killflash in place.

IIRC The killflash ring is the same part for all the different Comp M models (M, M2, M3, M4)

Advise her that the money you will save in buying batteries will make up for the price difference in the long term.

Youll like the M4. If you don't need the Kill Flash, ditch it. It makes using the iron sights problamatic.

    Enjoy the sight!
Thanks Pat, I will, and good call on the Kill Flash.

    Preach it brother....

That seems to always come up when someone is defending there EOTech choice...
and it always makes me chuckle

and if I want my sight to turn off.. I want to do it when I'm ready.. not when the sight is...

I've had my M2 (yeah that's right.. an M2 cause I'm a cheap bastard) since early 04 and it's on its second battery (wasn't dead.. just thought I would replace it after 2 yrs)

The thing is, is that VERY few read the rules.
