For example, none of my Eotech's have spontaneously died or shown any significant POI shift under use in open desert sun and a few ammo cans later. That doesnt mean anyone else is wrong, just means my experiance is different. Likewise, my Aimpoints have performed satisfactory as well. I never experianced tunnel vision

Good advice and applicable across the board...

It seems that the site works in cycles where we get a few showing up and spitting out rehashed info that they have read on other boards or "this is the best product because I own one and it has never failed me whicle sitting in its box gathering dust" and than for reason or another they are gone after a few posts.

I'm primarily an Eotech user, I've used both in Afghanistan and Iraq, and from a strictly personal choice prefer the EO.
I agree they are more of a PITA than the Aimpoint. In the heat here the battery box contacts either corrode, or the rubber shock bumper loses it adhesive and falls out when changing batteries - or both.
I've learned to live with it - I wish that Eo fixed some of their issues, they fixed the battery box - and other than the N version they perform well in inclimate weather.

That said I'm issued an Eo - so I've learned to deal with it - and have more familiarity over the Aimpoint.
I still have both, and admittedly unless I am acting as the PSO, I run a Short Dot.

IIRC The killflash ring is the same part for all the different Comp M models (M, M2, M3, M4)
    Thanks, durka.

    Question for Pat Rogers.....

    Hello Mr. Rogers,

I put ALOT of faith in your advice. I'm on the verge of purchasing an Aimpoint T-1 Micro. $640 is alot of money. Can you advise or comment (the positves and especially the negatives) of this sight.

    Thank you, sir.

Mr Rogers was my Dad- please call me Pat...
    Thanks for the ind words.

The main advantage is weight/ size. It weighs about .5lbs lighter then an M4, and is signigicantly smaller.
Battery life is less then an M4 as well, but still enough to make it a non issue.
One thing i don't like is the fact that the adjustment screw covers are also the adjustment tool. There are two tits on the cap that fit into corresponding holse in the screw. Lose the caps, no adjustment.
Truthfully, not a biggie, but i am still concerned.
It is a great fit on my 870 as well as my Krebbs AK.
Then again, it is great on my BCM upper too.

Is the weight/ size savings important to you? If so, it is worth it.
If not, get an M3/ M4.
    Hope this helps...

I've got an M-68 and the wife has an EOtech. I much more prefer the 68 since it's easier to turn on or off and the battery life is excellent. The view through the EOtech is a little better but you have to almost use both hands to turn the sight off and it sucks down expensive N-cell batteries like a Kennedy sucking down a bottle of booze!

The Larue site has the total weight of T-1 plus mount listed at 3.7 oz.

I do with Larue would sell a combo with the H-1 for those of us that don't need the NV but would like to save a couple of dollars.

Some other weights here for comparison purposes. Note that the T-1 plus mount weighs less than the carry handle.

    A couple more questions, Pat

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm a long time lurker on this site and basically look out for your threads. I need upgrading of my equipment and would like the very best. I would like to compact and lighten my load. I joined so I may ask questions.

It seems from your post that you "highly" recommend the Aimpoint T-1 Micro. Since you get to see alot of what works and don't work in your travels, I take the Micro has proven its durability and reliability? How long have you've kept an eye on the Micro? Is the mount the T-1 comes with strong enough or is a conversion to the LaRue mount a necessary upgrade.

On a side note on compactness, do you recommend the new Surefire X300 weapon light?

Thanks Pat. (Thanks also for allowing me to be informal with you.)
