Gotta support the guy who says enemies of the US need to be held without trial or due process! He specifically mentioned treason which ONLY applies to US citizens.

It was like a retread moment listening to Romney talking about Obama not going to abuse his "new" (???) NDAA powers like when McCain said we had nothing to fear from Obama. Where did these powers come from? I don't recall anything in the Constitution saying due process was out the window because the government put you on a special list?

Audience was bipolar. When Paul said we should think about how the US would feel if the a foreign country was doing the same stuff the US is doing to other countries he gets booed. Then the next line he says we need to quit these wars and bring the troops home and everyone cheers. Uh what?

The American public has the attention span of a gnat.

Couple our societal attention deficit disorder with zero concept of delayed gratification and a fundamental inability to place current events within a broader historical context and you've pieced together most of the major determinants for why we find ourselves in such deep shit.

When I watched that movie "Idiocracy" the first time, I thought it was so over the top as to be ridiculous. Five years later, it's beginning to seem disturbingly prophetic.

Agreed, though I thought the movie was "disturbingly prophetic" when I watched it years ago.

A single poll (or hand full of polls) should not make you think that RP would do well in a general election. General elections are about funding and organization. Paul does well in terms of funding for a primary candidate, but he does not have institutional deep pockets to keep up with Obama. In terms of organization, Paul's campaign is geared for a primary race, but poorly designed for a general election since he has little organization in key swing states such as FL and OH. While he might be able to assemble an organization on the fly, candidates tend to fair poorly in general election states where their primary campaign struggled. Also, keep in mind that the Obama Campaign is already running negative ads against Romney and they are still consistently tied in the polls. There is a difference between doing well when you are taking shots and doing well when you are ignored by your opponent.

Then, there is the issue of the media's posture towards Paul. While I agree that Paul's candidacy has been under reported by the MSM, he has enjoyed a "darling status" by the alternative media such as The Daily Show and Real Time. This is common for GOP underdogs during the primary, but things change quickly when they secure a nomination. Suddenly the underdog becomes just another racist conservative in the eyes of these liberal loons. This will be devastating for Paul given the shared demographics of young college voters (who love pot )

This was brilliant. Probably the best moment that I've seen from him in the debates.

Here's a 1 minute clip showing that. http://youtu.be/ltRTLNZmmfs It sounds like a bunch of plants from different candidates to me. Boo the other guy and cheer your guy type of stuff.

What's not to love about a plant that helps sick and ailing people while also making people feel good?

Ron Paul nailed it on that clip. I'll concede he's not the best public speaker but I love the fact that he's actually making people question their government and it's actions. You'll find no bigger supporter of the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution on that stage than Dr. Paul.

    ?

Oh, I can assure you Paul has financial support and organization in spades. And, he has one thing the Romney does not have - supporters with almost religion zeal.
