I use an H2 with my 7.5" 5.56

Standard carbine buffer works fine on my carbine systems. I run 11.5" barrels. If you're going to go shorter, like 10.3-10.5" I would maybe recommend heavy. If the barrel is shorter than that, i.e. 7.5" barrel then you probably want an H2 or H3 buffer. This is based on my own theory and not actual experience although it seems that a heavier buffer can mitigate cycling issues if not eliminate altogether. I would go with a really heavy buffer on the shortest barrel.
You have the right to be offended.
The 7.5 I built ran 100% with an H2 and Wolf XP Spring.
