Personally for the $2400.00 you are talking about spending, I can get a really nice DI rifle, say a DD, BCM or basic Noveske, and still have money left over for a red dot, a light and maybe even a good training course. So, for me, I'll have the set up that I want in a carbine and a couple of days of fun for same amount of money you're spending for just the rifle. Yes, cleaning is a little more time consuming, but I get what I want overall for less money. Just a thought.
I wanted a piston AR cause I've heard they require less cleaning, and I hate to clean the bolt and carrier on my ARs. That really was the only reason. The one I picked up at the gun shop did feel heavy.

As far as price. Yeah, I know what u mean, and others that have mentioned the price tag. I went to another gun shop today (looking for Saiga-12 shotguns again), and they had a couple LWRC. I didn't even look at them this time but the price tags on both were about $2300.

Cleaning really shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.
I'm not sure how it is a problem.

I will try not to be too hateful but Paul Leitner-Wise wasn't the only problem at that company in terms of their honesty with customers, and the other two are still there.

I don't mind broken guns, I mind broken promises and being lied to. The LWRC I had was the worst gun I ever owned. Fact. For reference, I ordered that gun one week after I broke my back, crushed my right leg, and snapped 3 ribs in an IED in Iraq. I GOT FIXED SOONER THAN THE GUN. The way LWRC handled making their product right was what put them on my shit list, I have never dealt with such poor service anywhere...HK looks like the high roller concierge at the Bellagio compared to LWRC from what I have seen. They flat out lied to me on numerous occasions, which is beyond a deal breaker for me. If anyone from the company wants to refute this I have all the emails saved that I would be happy to post up if they want. I had to enlist the help of DocGKR, Pat Rogers, Stephen, and a few other folks we all know just to get the guys to contact me back after they had my gun for 3 months, so they likely remember my situation.

One of my best friends had his personal 12.5 M6A2 upper experience a serious parts breakage in Afghanistan in early March and despite him trying to get resolution from a .gov email as well as his distributor trying to get him taken care of his gun is still broken and he can't get anyone to contact him back.

Those are my personal experiences with them, so if yours are great I am happy for you but I wouldn't own one of their guns if I got it for free...I had the opportunity and passed.

I only detail strip my AR's to do a thorough cleaning every 1800-2000rds. Between that, I typically only wipe down and re-lube the bolt carrier group and then run a boresnake thru the barrel. This is basically the same maintenance you would have to follow for a piston gun more or less.

DI AR's dont need to be clean to function reliably. They just need to be properly lubed and fed quality ammo.

The problem is I don't shoot that often. I've had my mt6400c for about 2 yrs and only shot it 2 or 3 times. That's why I'm anal about the cleaning....cause I know it will probably sit there for another year before I use it again. So I clean like like it's gonna get stored. But it's good to know that the AR platform is reliable if lubed well and with good ammo. I think they have gotten a bad rap from the early Vietnam days.

So what do u guys think of my setup? Maybe I was just trying to get something better. But this isn't a bad setup, is it?

Colt mt6400c. Am I right in saying it's like a post ban le6920? The negatives are the brake and the non collapsable stock. But I compared it to the chart that used to be up and it was the same as the le6920 except maybe for the fcg pin size. It has the m16 BC with a properly staked gas key, H buffer, I think it has the F size front sight. The chamber is chrome, barrel is 1/7 5.56 even though it says 223 on the lower rec. I didn't wanna take the gas system apart to look under there. But almost everything else was the same as the le6920.

I have a DD Omega rail, LaRue rtz mount with a Millett DMS scope (bigger and heavier than I'd like, but the price was right), Streamlight tlr-1 with remote switch in the back of the light (used with index finger) and momentary contact on the left side of the rail (used with thumb), Troy BUIS, BCM Gunfighter, and that's about it.

I might get rid of the scope and put a red dot in there cause it's a bit heavy.

It's a very high quality gun, I would prefer a T1 or H1 on there but that's one of the nicest guns out there if you have to adhere to some ban standard.
