I do this everytime. I plan out what I want, then halfway through Ill see something else, and start thinking about it, and questioning what I should do. Afterwards It comes out EXACTLY like I had planned and originally wanted. Your guys answers helped alot. Thank you all

I appreciate it guys, Thank you
What did you put on your Form 1 for barrel length?

IIUC, you're obligated to be able to return it to that barrel configuration unless you notify NFA Branch that you're changing barrel length permanently. Not that that's a big deal..I don't think that there's an approval process, I think you just send them a letter telling them. And that also begs the practical aspect of "how likely is it that you'll ever even MEET an ATF agent, let alone have him/her inspect your SBR paperwork"?

Regarding barrel length, I went with Paul's recommendation and have used 11.5 inch barrels on my two SBRs. I use an H2 buffer on both and have never had a failure to lock back or eject, even with the PMC Bronze that I mostly shoot.

I've gotten rid of all my 10.5" working barrels and replaced them with 11.5" barrels.

The 11.5 seems like the compromise most folks make especially when you are talking about a DI build.
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

After a lot reading I went with a 11.5" and it's been fantastic, my next will be a 12.5".

I guess I must be lucky again. I have an LMT 10.5" and it has been 100% reliable over thousands of rounds. I really don't see that there is much of a difference between the 11.5" and 10.5" so if I was buying another one I would probably look closely at price and availability.

Obviously reliability to paramount, but the next thing for me was size, if I was going to go through the cost and hassle for a Tax Stamp I figured I may as well get something that was as short as possible.

Here it the amazing, anomaly a 10.5" that is 100% reliable...

Cameron. I'm with you man. My LMT 10.5" and two of our PD LMT's run like sewing machines too. I went with a BCM 11.5" to update an old M16 the $55 price difference helped. Anything over $500 needs a PO and prior approval. I was able to buy the upper and H2 buffer for less than $500.

FWIW, I run a BCM 11.5, and never had any issues at all, with a few thousand rounds. One of my training partners runs a LMT 10.5 upper, and the same results with over 5500 rounds the last time he told me. Its up to you.
I'm pretty partial to the LMT 10.5". To me, the reason for an SBR is that it's short. An inch doesn't make a shitload of difference until you put a suppressor on the gun, then it's quite noticeable.

I wouldn't use just anyone's 10.5". An LMT or a Colt from SAW are my choices.

I put an A5 extension on my 11.5" gun not my LMT 10.5" to keep it shorter.
