When installing these handguards, cant you just cut the delta ring and handguard cap with a dremel and not even bother removing the FSP or gas tube?
You Can. I just did my 12". the hardest part was cutting the HG cap since its sits against the lip on the BBL. I ended up sliding the FSB forward to finish the cut.

Did you partially disassemble the Delta rings first? If you do it makes it easier.

Yup, cut the delta first. It's how the cap is sandwiched by the FSB and that lip made it difficult to cut out. It's why I had to slide the FSB forward.

    Tin snips...

You can use a Dremel to cut the delta ring, then tin snips on the handguard cap. The HG cap is pretty soft. Try making two cuts to form a triangle, then used pliers to work the piece until it fatigues at the part closest to the barrel. Probably 3-to-5 minutes working carefully so as not to scratch/gouge the barrel.

Not my idea; got it from someone else here on m4c. It worked well for me.

On another note, I have the 9" mid-length on a BCM/BFH middy. I believe these are terrific handguards, and the mid-length cutout version is even better. Great job Monty/CA!

I'll mention there is no need to cut the spring or clip in the delta ring assembly, those pieces can be removed by grabbing them with pliers and twisting them off. I would also recommend wrapping the receiver and barrel with a rag, and leaving the delta ring exposed in between. This makes it simple and a slip won't gouge anything.

I imagine the FSB cut out should work with a Switchblock then?

Did I miss the sizes? Carbine and midlength?

ETA: Just read Monty's post, no carbine yet
