    Will488,

You must decide. You know your friend and it's your money. Asking what is the best and leaving it up to a forum is not the answer. Everyone will point in different directions.

Your title stated "Best 1911 for Deployment". The gun I recommend would fit that bill better than all the others mentioned here. Some of which I own.

You gave a price point when you said Nighthawk. Once again, you can go lower or higher, it's your money and your friend.

No matter which 1911 he gets, he is lucky to have a friend like you.

    Take care & choose wisely.

Just letting you know what I was doing. I like to share.

as for the Colts, that's the problem with custom shop units. there's little consistency from pistol to pistol, with the ones I've handled. As I may have mentioned before I've got a custom shop Colt sitting in a drawer because it's too gaudy, and poorly fitted to be seen by others. maybe one day it'll get to a shop and redone. for now, i'm doing the world a service by keeping it hidden
Send said "gaudy Colt" to me. I will give it a good home.

...We have long maintained that the only accessories that a 1911 needs are a trigger you can manage, sights that you can see, and a dehorning job. That still goes.
