Guitar cases/Violin case

Guitar cases work pretty well. This one if made of cordura, and most have pockets for extra strings, pics, tuners, etc. I dont have a pic of my M4 in this one. But if it fits a Mossberg 500 it well fit an SBR with no problem. Actually a SBR may be a tad small for a case like this. But if you could find like a Violin case, that could possibly work better.

I went with USMCVET's suggestion of the Head tennis bag. It's a perfect fit for the 11.5".

Would a 12.5" with CAR stock fit too?

You cant beat that for $10. Going to have to check that out and see if my local walmart has one.

Think a 12.5" sbr would be pushing it? Wondering if a bcm kino would fit in there

    there
I think it would be tight but would fit. I have an 11.5" upper and asully stick which is supposed to be the same length as one click out on a collapsible stock. If you don't have a rubber but pad I think it would fit. If not I have a brand new BCM 11.5" upper I will trade you.

I have two questions, the first needing to be answered before I should even ask the second...but I'll add it in the same post anyway...

    1) What application are you guys using this bag for? For what do you need a discrete bag?

    2) If the answer to number 1 is what I think it is, then are you prepared to play the part or at least get by with it?...read on...

For me, the reason I would want a discrete bag is to be able to carry it places that I generally would not be able to such as an office at work (if you own your own business)...or from your car to your apartment, where there is a strong possibility that you would come into contact with a person that you may or may not know who may strike up a conversation about your tennis or guitar bag thinking that you actually play....

To me, the most discrete is a duffle bag setup (especially if you workout...and it helps to look the part), whether you make your own dedicated discrete SBR duffle bag or you buy something like the Emdom-MM TNT Bag. Nobody would ever question a duffle bag because they are "usually" filled with sweaty clothes and gym gear.

So this has led me to my question...are you guys who use these "other" bags prepared to look and play the part if you have to?

If you are, then great, drive on....but if you carry a conversation with a guy about your "guitar" that you have in your case, there is always the chance that he will ask politely to see it because he is a guitar enthusiast...now what? How do you politely decline without arousing any suspicion, thus negating the purpose of the "discrete" bag?

I know from personal experience that nobody will EVER ask to see what's in a duffle bag...at least I've NEVER been asked, and I've carried around a gym/duffle bag for a long long time....

    Agree? Disagree?

I don't have an sbr but I use soft guitar cases for my rifles and have been looking for cases for sbr type as I plan on some of those in the future.

I avoid the athletic type bags as I am obviously not athletic. While I don't actively play guitar (I am taking bass lessons again after 17 years off) or violin, I am musically literate and can say a few words before I excuse myself if asked about it ("sorry, later, got to run -- late for appointment" -- is the best answer )

I use the guitar cases as the sneaky and bfg type bags look to obvious to me. I want to be able to carry them to my car, truck, etc without observers really knowing what is in there.
