    best suggestions for summer boots

ok guys I need some suggestions...
I am looking for a new pair of boots... I still have my altima deserts (but they need now soles badly) and most of the time I wear my merrel sawtooth boots , but as it is getting hotter her in the peoples Republic of CA , I have notices the sawtooths aren't as warm weather friendly as I would hope... any suggestions?
I have been aimed towards the lowa zephyr desert gtx mid tf , but i was wondering what other ideas you guys have.
    thanks
    Thanks,

Keen Voyageurs. Don't waste the money resoling a boot like the Altamas.

    I'd recommend the Nike FSBs.

Super light and comfortable and right up your street if you want a hot weather boot.

Here in Texas, the OTB Bushmasters have treated me well. Pretty lightweight and flexible enough to feel like a sneaker instead of a boot while still giving support. The mesh "fingers" allow pretty good ventilation. Probably not something I would go backpacking with 60+ lbs though.

If you'd like another pair of Merrels, I'd suggest their Moab Ventilators.
I have the shoe version and they keep my feet nice and cool. All you need is a light breeze and your feet will feel like you stopped to give them a breather.
I'll definitely be picking up a pair of the 6" versions for when I'm out humping a ruck.

I have the OTB Bushmaster and the Lowa Zephyr's. Weather is getting warmer and they both do well in the SoCal heat.

For my $0.02, the Lowa's are a tad more comfortable, but the really soft sole is chewed up rapidly as everyday (when I'm not wearing my Keen's) shoe. The OTB's have a harder compound and wear longer.

Would love to find something that fits somewhere in between.

I just read a post on Kyle DeFoor's DeFoor Proformance blog today with the boots he recommends. They were Saloman (sp) but I can't recall which model. You can find it quick enough though with GOOGLE.

    Agreed.

A boot can be too lightweight that is becomes uncomfortable hot, such as my Nike desert boots. They are painful at 120+ temperatures.
