Unless my eyes are deceiving me, all the chrome lined steel 16" barrels on the page below are using the mid-length gas system.

Looks like all their 16" ss are mids.

All CHF barrels are going into rifles and uppers for now.
That's unfortunate. One of the determining factors on a couple uppers I'm buying is the gas ports in a way and it's always been easy info to find. It's especially important to me on the 14.5" middy and the 10.5".
OP, I did handle a basic 14.5" middy from Noveske recently and I really enjoyed shooting it. I'm a little disheartened as I was looking to Noveske for one of those next two uppers and since they are for a specific need and not just a general rifle, gas port size is important to me in this particular case.

I was reading on a forum some where that 14.5 middys in general chrono at 100fps faster than carbines. any insight into this?
Just a little more than general knowledge. i.e. if the Mid length gas system in the 14.5 is equivalent to mid length in 16". Or did they do something like KAC SR15 and come up with a different "mid length" gas port. Also how the gas port size was altered and dwell time specifics. Would 223 cause any cycling problems?
What i am looking for from the 14.5 is the length diff from 16. The accuracy and durability from the noveske line. and not just the barrel but the complete carbine. Don't think with the accuracy of the barrels that 14.5 vs 16 will be even negligible different. Just trying to find my do all end all from up close to mid range. Im not swamping out anything gonna pin a battle comp and hopefully new FFLs will be out too!
I didn't want to go any more off topic or make this an A vs B thread. With the 10.5, for example, I'm looking for the smallest gas ports so it can be set up with a dedicated suppressor. It's 6:50 here and I just woke up, so bare with me... I have an extra barrel here that I was going to cut the 10.5" (or 14.5") and have it drilled with a smaller gas port, but figured I might as well just get a new one.
After reading through a few random threads about the gas ports on shorter weapons, I decided on my next 10.5" and maybe the 14.5", I want to go with the smallest available.
I hope that makes sense. I've owned Noveske guns before and have been very happy with them. Since I already have a couple perfectly reliable guns that fill the main roles that I need, I figured I'd take a chance and do it differently on these next two.
