Looks like my brain is still swollen and not working right from the heat of the Silencer Shoot......
Yes, I forgot to factor in the return trip of the sound......
In explanation of myself, I saw this comment in the video:
Nice Shooting. From the shot to the hit it took just under 5 second in flight. Maybe one day you can get your hands on some tracer ammo and post another video @ the same distance.
No excuse though, i should spotted his error, not repeated it.

IMHO screw on rifle silencers are a thing of the past.

Even for bolt guns Scott? I don't see a point in geting a QD FH.

Why do the loudest do the least?
If I put together a precision bolt gun with a dedicated can, I'd probably never take it off. So a thread on would be fine.
But I'm cheap, and would want to use the can for other things, so I'd go for a QD.
I see your point, and while it makes sense this would be a dedicated suppressed rifle. I would only take the can off for cleaning. Theoretically I could do the same thing with a QD, but why add more parts and weight to something if its not necessary?
As far as being "in the field" I have no intentions of stalking or hunting with this so thats not an issue. Strictly a range gun.

I personally like thread-on dedicated cans for bolt guns.
QD is easier to switch between hosts, and you have the mount to protect threads or improve performance (flash hider or muzzle brake) when the can is not mounted.

I'd prefer it just so that the suppressor is definitely going to stay in one place.
With thread ons the can tends to move. I've seen it happen with a Gemtech.
Actually the guy had a baffle strike because of the shift. Had to get sent back.
He's using an AAC M4-2000 now.
We miss you, AC.
