Sounds like you've got it all sorted out. If you SBR a KAC, BCM, or Colt lower then you'll be in great shape and the DPMS is a good emergency spare and a place to park other NFA parts. The anti-roll pins are a good, easy fix for your problem in the mean time. Sorry about your luck with the ATF but that doesn't surprise me.

Which is another reason I am so glad I live in the suburbs. As gun-friendly as the rest of the state is (save for Pittsburgh), Philadelphia is a ****ing nightmare.

As for the lower, it is truly a shitty hand you've been dealt. If you don't mind me asking, how long did you own the lower before SBR'ing the thing? Also, did you run it as a complete rifle prior to doing the deed?

It was a pistol build originally, on the aforementioned 7.5" upper. I didn't have any probs at first, but I didn't know better at the time and didn't put a ton of rounds through it prior to getting the stamp. Once I got the BCM 11.5 upper I started shooting more and the holes apparently wore out.

Ouch sorry to hear about your troubles!

I think when I get around to SBRing a lower, I'm going to make sure I've got something really solid. Good luck with the KAC, not sure if they get much better then that.

If it were me I would measure the pin holes and see if they were out of spec. Or else it could be the pins. It may not change what you do, but then at least the cause is known.

Not to insult you at all, but can you confirm the hammer spring is configured like this photo. Note the legs of the spring come from the underside and rest on the top of the trigger pin.

A reversed hammer spring is the most common cause of the trigger pin walking out.

I see. Really is a shame, man.

Have you tried calling DPMS to see if they could make it right? From their reputation on this site, I'd imagine their C.S. is shit, but who knows... you might get lucky.

I agree, gage the pin holes if possible but DPMS=shit-----no surprise here. John Holliger of White Oak has long said he will not work on dpms garbage.

Also interested in some measurements and/or confirmation that the spring legs are in the pin recess.
