Honestly sir, there is a lot of info here. I'm trying to read as much as I can while riding on an ambulance everyday. Hard to read on my phone! LOL. I just figured since the last two non SBR AR's I built were built using Model1 parts that they'd be fine to use again for this. I had absolutely zero problems with the two M4 style rifles with full 16 inch barrels I built before. I believe in buying stuff that works. But I also believe EMS don't make squat for a paycheck. So I'm trying to stay in budget. When I can buy an entire parts kit for 550 versus just an upper for 600, I have a hard time swallowing it. Like I said, I'm not military nor do I plan to use this gun for protection or self defense. Ultimate reliability is not a requirement. If I need something for defense, it'll be pistol caliber. NOT popping off 5.56 rounds in my house. I need my ear drums! I'll look into some other upper assemblies. I just want a fun rifle to take to the range occasionally and have some fun. The MP5 is my go to weapon for anything defense wise.
Custom PCS German build MP5 clone. The best period.

If you want a fun rifle by a S&W M&P15-22. A good SBR needs to made from quality parts. If you are happy with your previous purchase then by all means have it. Let us know how it works for you.

I'll definitely do some searching and see what I come up with. Another question I had was about the carrier. I've heard its best to use a fa carrier instead of the sa carrier that usually comes with these uppers or kits. Where do you get fa carrier?

    Doesn't Model 1 and M&A sell them?

I don't think so. Did I sense a bit of sarcasm?!

That's funny because before I asked the question I went to their website and they in fact do sell them. http://www.mapartsinc.com/productsDetail.asp?id=554

Now, if you read closely at the bottom of the page they indicate all NFA rules apply and that you have to be Class II, III, or stamped person which is completely ludicrous because there are no such restrictions on BCG's.

So ask yourself this. Do you want to buy stuff from companies that are this silly? They will sell you an 11.5" upper, but a BCG?

It's obvuous that you haven't done any research or read any of the info here. Get back to us when you do.
