How Fast Can You Go On A Benelli M4?

Has anybody tried rapid firing with the m4? Was wondering if I could fire it as fast as my fingers could pull the trigger...

Yes with "good" ammo as fast as you can pull it....

Im sure you could. You can feel the inertia system cycling and you know exactly when its locked back up so you can pull the trigger again. I personally can pull the trigger faster than the gun cycles, but just barely. Its actually fairly easy to run the gun fast.

The M4 has dual gas pistons. It is not inertia operated..

My mistake. I have not handled or shot an M4, was thinking they were the same inertia system as all the other benelli's, which I have shot quite a few of.

I've never timed it, but the M4 can empty a full mag tube very quickly. Compared to other semi shotguns I have tried (namely a Mossberg 930 and FN SLP), it is much quicker and more controllable due to its gas system. If I had to venture a guess I would say you can dump 6 rounds in well under 2 seconds.

I can outrun them with birdshot but not buck. Using a lighter than stock bolt handle and liberal amounts of tw25b helps
