The "Fourth Turning" is here. If you truly want to prepare then it's time to become self sufficient off grid.

Started making a list of long term food shortages. Dog Food, stuff like that. Made a dentist appt. Had a knee surgery yesterday, and when I came out and got home i saw RBG passed. With all the riots that have been happening, this is just another reason for them to riot. I think it is going to be a crap shoot come election day.

I picked up some 7 Gallon water jugs and filled them up from the tub for storage in the basement. I also grabbed three bags of rice, two bags of black beans and two bags of red beans for long term storage.

Bought another fire extinguisher. It's a small step, but I have to get what I can past The Ostrich whenever I can.

Look into these for your vehicles: https://elementfire.com/

I’m waiting to see if they do a Black Friday sale and picking a couple up.

I'm here. I see a few posts ago you (arbninftry) were starting to make a list of long term food storage. I made a pretty comprehensive list of food storage based on calories for 1 person for 1 year. It is based on 2,000 calories per day and broken down into food groups; Grains, Protein, Fruit/veg. Anyone who'd like to use it send me a PM and I'll email you a PDF. The 3 categories total 730,000 calories which is 1 year of food at 2,000 calories per day. Each category makes up a percentage of your diet. For example you don't want 729,000 calories from fruit/veg, and then 500 each for protein and grain to reach 730,000. I divided it how I wanted, and what made sense to me for long term storage and other factors. I made the list to include calories AND weights/volumes so grocery shopping and taking inventory is easy....no need to count calories, just add up weight/volume. Instead of my list saying you need 485,000 calories of grain (making up 60% of your diet) it also tells you that is about 300 pounds of various grains (rice, flour, pasta) etc. This makes shopping really easy and makes the list customizable. I did not include items like dairy, salt, or coffee in the calorie count because they aren't necessary, but recommendations for quantities are included. Counting those items brings the calorie count for the year to 843,000. Whether you use 730,000 calories or 843,000 for one year I think both are much more calories than you will actually eat in a year. So if anyone follows my list don't be too concerned if you don't follow it completely. Perhaps other people eat more than me. It's a baseline though to help get people started or take inventory. Maybe reduce all categories by 10% based on your needs....or maybe increase it.

Anyone who'd like to use it send me a PM and I'll email you a PDF. It is for personal use only.

Moved cases of ammo to secure storage at office/shop.
A true "Gun Guy" (or gal) should have familiarity and a modicum of proficiency with most all firearms platforms.
