    Buffers & springs ????

    If I switch from a non mil-spec to a mil-spec buffer tube do I need to change the buffer and spring ???

    Nope... internally they are the same.
    I put the "Amateur" in Amateur Radio...

    KL is of course correct. I would also think about how many rounds you have through that old spring. If it is more than 2-3 thousand, I would just a new spring.
