I'm all for funding US arms research -- but it does NOT seem wise or fair to try to reinvent the wheel - when a capable American product already exist, that has been privately funded.
They did the right thing with the ACOG - took a product that was developed with private money, decided they liked it, and made it official. It should be required, by law, that the government always look for existing, off the shelf products to meet their needs, and use them if the products meet the requirements. And the reqirements must be justifiable and not drafted simple to exclude off the shelf products.

I think most people agree that USGI mags "work fine" - but it is the opinion of many that the polymer magazines are far more durable under rough use.

I don't engage in any harder use than carbine classes, but the P-Mags certainly seem pretty durable to be. You're far less likely to drop your P-Mag on a rock and render it useless.

Refer to my post on pg. 1. This is not about my like of PMags, it is anger directed at wasted money, more specifically the buffoons that waste it.

The PMag is not some pipe-dream vaporware. It is a proven and accepted improvement to a weapons system.

The powers that be are soliciting COTS thermal devices; delicate and tech-oriented pieces of gear that, frankly, are less than precious in the hands of the individual warrior. A reliable, tough magazine? Critical. Why are they wasting TIME and MONEY on reinventing the wheel when they could simply be purchasing massive quantities of PMags? Every day the trigger-puller is deprived of essential equipment is another day those back-stabbing self-serving, promotion-oriented, conceited, f**kers should spend being gang-raped in Levinworth.

    But what do I know...

Hey guys...let's not be too encouraging. Next thing you know, Uncle Sam will be buying up all the Pmags and there'll be none on the civilian market.

No worries in that respect. We'll be at a substantial higher compacity here in the coming months and will be sitting on boxes of them.

What do you know? Looks like you know that the system is flawed.

Is this type of comment really necessary?

One thing important about the Pmags durability is if a AWB happens again the PMAGS we own will last.

Seeing that they are stealing money out of our pockets with this type of behavior......... Yes.

What was it, 28 mil wasted on the XM8? That was our (tax paying Americans) money.....wasted.

    Some constitute this as treason!
