Hello!!! i bit the bullet today and payed for a YHM 5.56 Stainless Phantom suppressor.. so i was wondering how the ATF determines if your eligable or not to own a suppressor.. i was told thaat if you could buy a handgun more than likely you could own a suppressor.. do any of you own one of these suppressors? i am wondering how you like them.. thanks for any input!!!!!

I have that exact model of suppressor, the YHM stainless phantom. I use it on one of my AR SBR's, with a 10.5" bbl. I've had it over a year, and really not put much ammo through it. It's a bit loud on my 10.5" bbl, but fairly quiet when I mount a 14.5" bbl. on the rifle. The suppressor is a bit heavy, but they are not really expensive when you compare it with something like a Gemtech G5, and I only paid $500 for my YHM, so all in all, I am pleased with it. I'm going to the range with it tomorrow and put a few more rounds through it. :-)
May God have mercy on my enemies, because I won't.

Honestly, I had a response on my experience of the can, but since it was all personal opinion that may not be shared by other users, and not negating the actually intended use of the can(ie it is a suppressor, it suppresses sound, it has not broken) then I will just say congratulations on entering the NFA crowd.
You can never make anyting idiot-proof, whenever you get close they just build a better idiot.

That's not a bad price u paid.. I paid $560 for mine.. And my AR is a YHM rifle with the 16" barrel.. I'd like to eventually get a 10.5" barrel!! I think they look badass! But I don't really have a purpose for one.. Haha! But thanks for some positive info! If every thing goes well with this one, I can't see why not.. I'd like to suppress my Kimber raptor.. I think the 1911s look neat with a suppressor on them.. Do any of you have a suppressed pistol.. I'd like to know the pros and cons of putting a can on a 45 1911 style pistol.. Thanks
