I agree with Grant. Those look like they came from the supply system.

Would you return those? If so, could you do it without getting arrested?

I would either call CID if I were you or dissappear this thread before they see it.

Those are as hot as a firecracker.
My brother saw Deliverance and bought a Bow. I saw Deliverance and bought an AR-15.

How in the world would anyone ever know those are stolen government property? I think stuff gets blown out of proportion sometimes on here. The government sends so much crap to drmo that I'm sure that it could have come from there. You don't see the government beating down the door of all the people who own serial numbered military 1911 pistols and there are thousands of them in civilian hands yet the government never offered them for sale to the public. I'm sure the government has bigger problems than trying to recover a $54.22 part. (That's what they pay for them according to the nsn)

I highly doubt that FULL FUNCTIONAL parts like this go to DRMO. Most of the items I have seen go to DRMO were either outdated surplus (uniforms, boots, gear, etc...) or items that were damaged.

As for you firearms comparison may times in the past when our government was more gun friendly towards our citizenry it was entirely possible for servicemembers to retain certain firearms- especially after WW II and Korea.

What we are talking about here is someone taking parts either the the DLA or the .MIL supply system and selling them.

Either way, no one can say for sure they are stolen and I don't think that cid needs to be called. That's just ridiculous.

Simple. There is a Cage Code and NSN # on the packaging.

You must not know the Govt if you don't think that they won't come and talk you over a $53 dollar item.

I'd agree with grant and ig, those things are bad juju. If the op bought them and legitimately didn't know they were stolen than he shouldn't have any problems if he contacts cid. Plus whoever is taking these things is taking them away from their intended use.. in a servicemembers rifle

Who's to say that wasn't issued to someone as a spare? I'm not sure that the military does that but the chances of the government tracking some dude down from a message forum are slim to none. I can go on eBay and find Aimpoint compm2's all day long still with Iraqi dust on them. The same goes for new FN 20" M16 barrels on gunbroker. I've been working for the government for 16 years and I've seen more than enough brand new stuff sent to drmo for whatever reason in that time. I agree it very well could be stolen but its not proveable and it wouldn't be something I'd worrry too much about if I was ever to acquire one of those.
