Someone should let this guy know that he is selling stolen government property. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=243329245

may not be government property, may never have made it to Uncle. It probably fell off of the loading dock of some FN subcontractor.

In a thread that Grant previously posted someone stated that the extractor on the bolt is also marked with an F. Does anyone know if that's true?

My bolts extractor is not marked. It doesn't look like the extractor on the one in the auction is marked either.

My understanding is that the official markings are MPF with the F being underlined.

First of all, I'm wondering why the OP and others want these FN military-only bolts. It's a freaking BOLT. Go buy one at BCM or Midway.

Second, whoever stole those bolts out of the arms room was pretty dumb to leave the packaging on them with the label. The government going after a $50 part might sound ridiculous to you, but that's probably because you haven't interacted with the military much. You think the guy who stole these bolts stopped at two? Who knows what he's been stealing from whatever arms room or depot he works at. If a person is tracked to buying even one of these items, then they become part of the larger investigation. And believe me, the military screws a lot of things up, but when it comes to nailing guys' asses to the wall over stolen property or money, they are second to none.

That's easy. They followed the sale right to you from someone that obtained it illegally.

I have been down this road with the Govt. I have had and have known the black suburban's roll into my driveway.

FN buys bolts in the white and finish grinds, HPT and MPI's them in house (along with marking them). So if the bolt has the correct marking on it, then it is FN's product.

And then what? They ask to see my rifle and pull out a non-serial numbered part and say it's stolen?

Well he has a hell of a feedback score for a guy selling stolen parts. Looks like he is selling "stolen" Matech sights and Colt M4 barrels as well.

LOL, no. They ask for their stolen property back and then take it.

You are out the item AND will most likely never see your money back.

There is a guy on the forum that bought an IR laser off EBAY. 6 months after having it, the Govt came looking for it (at like 10PM). He sold it and they asked for the info of the person he sold it to.

Not everyone gets caught. Not everyone is breaking the law. Sometimes things come through DRMO.

Matech sights can be bought from the company. Colt barrels can be bought from lots of places that are not illegal.
