So are suggesting that he got them from someone who stole them and is now selling them on gunbroker? That would be a pretty bold move for someone who has a ffl. Where did you get the ones that you were selling?

He states that FN sells bolts and parts to dealers (this is not true to my knowledge). He also states that he DID NOT buy them from FN. So that means there is a middle man.

That middle man could be anything. Thief, etc, etc.

My FN bolts we sold more than a year ago where from a contract over run. They never actually came from FN and they were NOT marked like these (which did come from FN).

It seems Ms Myers is no longer with FN Mfg so I forwarded the correspondence to Joe T., their M16 rep.

    Sir,

FN does not sell M16 bolts (or any other such parts) commercially; nor have we ever. We do sell FN designed AR style barrels for commercial customers.

    Regards,

    Stuart

    Joe,

It seems I have an old address for an FN contact. I corresponded previously with Beryl on this matter. I am now also seeing barrels sold as FN manufacture through Palmetto State Armory. Has FN changed its policy on selling to the public?

    Readiness is all.

    Hope this isn't considered derailing:

I picked up a few FN-manufactured magazines in a pile of "$5 specials". a couple years back. Replaced the green GI followers with MAGPUL ones. I'm assuming mags were never sold to the public either?

I can take pics of the floorplates, I do believe they're genuine FN, marked as being manufactured in Columbia, SC.

Thanks Tweak for the effort. That pretty much ends the conversation about FN selling to dealers.

Not trying to derail this thread. But I came across this on another local AR site. Spikes Upper with FN barrel

It seems like a great deal to me. But the reason I brought it up was the FN barrel. What is the story on this? Doesn't Palmetto sell FN barreled uppers now too? I think this might all be related.

I'll have to get some pics and see what you guys think. Didn't look cheesy or counterfeit to me, and I've never had a failure in either one that I could remember. When I got them they were pretty muddy/dusty, had all sorts of crud inside. I also pulled a genuine Colt 20 rounder out of the same box, with alloy follower, rampant colt floorplate and all.
